Usually not. Height is the fastest way to add cost to a fence, and a lot of the time a 6-foot fence gives you the same privacy for less. It depends on the slope of your yard and where your house sits relative to the neighbors'. On a lot that falls away from the house, six feet can screen more than eight feet does on flat ground.

Concrete placed correctly holds a post. More concrete in the wrong place doesn't hold it better. It just costs more and takes longer to cure. The same goes for a lot of the add-ons that get quoted: extra trim pieces, decorative caps, additional boards low on the fence for pets. Most of those change how the fence looks, not how long it stands.
If you want them for the look, that's a real reason and we'll build them. We just won't sell them to you as strength.
New cedar changes color more in the first twelve months than in the rest of its life. It goes from that fresh orange-tan to a silvery gray, and it does it unevenly depending on sun exposure. That's normal and it isn't a defect.
One thing to watch: if a sprinkler head sprays directly onto a section of fence, that section will weather and need staining sooner than the rest. Either adjust the head or plan on maintaining that run on a shorter cycle. We'll point out any spots we see on the walkthrough.

The number is the number. If it's more than you want to spend, we'll change the scope. Fewer feet, a different finish, pine instead of cedar, and we re-quote it honestly. We don't discount, because a price that moves when you push it was never a real price.
The build itself is usually days, not weeks. What moves the calendar is permitting, which takes a few days to two weeks depending on the city, and HOA review, which runs on their schedule. We start on both immediately and order long-lead materials the same day.
